(Karen’s Help Page)
This page was created to help guide all CCL Team Officials (particularly those new to the process) through the labyrinth that is youth soccer registration! Read through the brief Q&A below and if you need help don’t hesitate to reach out! I look forward to working with everyone!

Q. Where do I begin??
A. What do I NEED TO KNOW to get started?
- The two State Associations use different databases and processes for registering their players and team officials. In addition, every club has a specific way that they wish to do it. Some clubs allow the teams to do a lot of the work, others require that the team creation and player upload occurs at the club level. Please contact your club to determine exactly what they need you to do.
- Both VYSA and MSYSA require their team officials to complete Abuse Prevention Systems training. ALL team officials MUST complete this prior to being rostered, and their completion certificate will need to be uploaded. Please contact your club for assistance on obtaining the appropriate link for this training.
- Both State Associations require that the team official have a current background check. Each has an integrated system that most clubs use. However, your club may have their own provider, so be sure to check with them. Background checks are good for 2 years.
- MSYSA has a required Concussion Training course. This completion certificate will also need to be uploaded.
Q. When do I need to have ALL of this ready? I’m headed on vacation to [Madrid, Outer Banks, Fiji…] and I’m sure the registrar can rush it through when I get back, right?
A. Well, not exactly! Remember, registrars are volunteers and may go on vacation during the summer too. Make sure to allow plenty of time to get your rosters approved before your first tournament or league game. We’ve always tried to have teams submit their initial roster no later than 2 weeks prior to their first match (which could be a tournament or league play). When in doubt email your Assigned League Registrar for guidance.

Q. I’ve got a UNIQUE situation…I bet you haven’t dealt with anything like THIS before!
A. Oh, but I bet we have…and if WE haven’t, we know someone who can find the answer for you!
- International Players – Players born outside the United States may require specific paperwork before they can be registered to teams in the registration system. Please contact your club to determine if you need to clear your international player. Click here for details from the US Soccer website.
- Out-of-State Players – Players that DO NOT reside in the state in which their team is based must first register in their home state and obtain interstate permission to be added to the team’s roster. (VYSA; MSYSA).
Q. I STILL have questions and this page doesn’t have the answers!
A. Don’t ponder the problem privately! We’d LOVE to hear from you so we can help! Team officials can contact Karen Klumpp for guidance.
Q. When are my games? Why aren’t they posted?
A. Unfortunately, this is not a question the registrars can answer. 😊 The dates on which two clubs will be playing one another are determined early, but the actual times are not. If you have questions regarding your schedule, please contact your club.
