FC Frederick boasts the highest number of convention participants at this years United Soccer Coaches (USC) convention in Philadelphia. With 25 attending coaches, FC Frederick was the most well represented club in the entire country, and beyond that, in recent history, with the only more well represented group having 30 in 2016.
FC Frederick’s commitment to the USC association has been consistent over the years with 55 members in 2015/2016, 63 members in 2016/2017, and 60 members in 2017/2018. On their staff, they have 250 years of individual membership. This puts them as the largest club (individual membership wise) in the CCL and the state of Maryland, and in the top ten in the country concerning the Member Club Program.
Being the biggest coaches convention in the world, the USC convention is an amazing opportunity for coaches to learn, expand their network, organize, and collaborate. With more than 250 education sessions, presented by more than 200 coaches and experts, and the opportunity to earn 13 different diplomas during the event, there is no better place for coaches to be at the start of the year.
FC Frederick understands this opportunity and has been devoted to getting as many of their members to the convention as possible. Executive Director, Bo Eskay speaks on the accomplishment. “Experienced coaches sometimes get comfortable in their knowledge of the game, ways to work with players, and the ‘tried and true’. The best way to avoid this trap is to stay engaged with new ideas and current trends in education and coaching, and there is no better place to do this than the USC convention—the most comprehensive coaching education platform in the world. We are very proud of our guys for taking the time out of their personal lives to educate themselves, better their coaching, and stay engaged with the game.”
